Charity: Unseen Kindness
I have this little Chinese lady in my neighborhood who walks every morning. She's really cute and speaks NO English whatsoever. If my garbage can is left out, she always brings it in for me. This morning, I caught her doing it and opened the door and thanked her the best I could with a bit of made-up sign language and bowing. :) I hope she understood.
She's been doing this for years, and I'm not even sure if she knew about the ongoing family medical issues that have been going on in our house. For a long time, we didn't know who brought our garbage can from the street to the outside of our garage. Then, one morning we "caught" her in the act. Isn't it funny how this one simple act of kindness can mean much? Just by doing that one little thing - bringing in a trash can. This little lady has no idea how much she has helped me out, I just want to run out and hug her. She does it without any recognition as if it's her own sweet ministry.
I'm fortunate to have wonderful neighbors and if I ever move, I'd want them to move with me.
