Starting Up A Drip Irrigation System

The final step in setting up the drip irrigation for the season is to attach it to the water supply system. In my case that is the municipal water system. In the first photo below I have assembled the materials and tools needed to make the final connections. There is a pressure reducer, a two way flow splitter, some pipe fittings and screw clamps. This is a single station with two lines.

The first thing I do is connect the pressure reducer. Most municipal water systems have pressures that damage the system and waste water.

I attach two pipe fittings to the flow splitter.

I attach the flow splitter to the pressure reducer.

I place a screw clamp over each supply line, then attach the supply line to the flow splitter fitting.

Then I tighten the screw clamps (see photo below), and the system is ready to start.

Here's some video I also took of the process. I hope you enjoy it. Have a wonderful summer and
I'll be back in the fall when it is time to winterize the system.

Drip system video goes here.

Let me know in the comments if you have any questions.
