Tale of a First-Time Home Buyer: The Inside Scoop
Check out our exclusive new pics of what everyone’s been talking about! OK, maybe not everyone, just me.
We went by the house this weekend to check it out, and for the first time, no workers were there working on it…so we decided to let ourselves in and see the progress firsthand. We know we’re not supposed to do this, so that made it even more exciting. We were deployed on a self-assigned reconnaissance mission; Objective: Search and Enjoy.
The drywall is done and all of the rooms look exactly like they will when the house is finished. The kitchen cabinetry is installed, but the appliances aren’t there yet. We walked all throughout the pad (several times) and talked about where we would put this and how we would use that. All I care about is where the big, beautiful TV I recently bought would be prominently displayed. We were in the house for almost an hour. We didn’t want to leave. Sometimes it feels like it’s all a dream and it’s never going to actually happen, but being inside the finished space really made it hit home for us. This is where we’ll be living, where we come home to. In less than five weeks. Wow.
We had such a good time I treated us to a couple of Slurpees on the way home. We promised to come back next weekend to sneak in again and daydream about the not-so-distant future.
