Unique Properties - Bob Hope's Palm Springs Home
Most folks in the inspection business will tell you that they really love houses. I’m no exception. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to attend an ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors), convention in Palm Springs, Ca. One of the extra activities was a tour of stars' homes. Although we could not actually “tour” Bob Hope’s house, as it’s not open to the public, the information about it fascinated me, all 17,531 square feet of it.
Sitting high up on a cliff, this space-ship looking home has 6 bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms and it’s rumored that the pool is shaped like Bob Hope’s profile.
Built in 1979 by architect John Lautner, it’s rumored that Mr. Hope didn’t like it, never spent a night there and used it only to entertain. This home was even used for Hollywood productions like Lethal Weapon 2.

It's a real shame that Bob
It's a real shame that Bob Hope apparently wasn't a fan of his own home, as it looks to me to be a castle worthy of a comedy king. Nice to know it is still getting use, even if never by the man himself.

Matt
