What's Wrong With This Picture? Electrical Convenience
Answer: Outlet Access Prohibited In Shower/Bath Box
Look closely in the lower left of the picture and you’ll notice a GFCI outlet pretty much within the shower perimeter. According to general building code this outlet should not be installed within or directly over a bath or shower stall.
Additionally, we’re not sure the outlet is truly protected as the testor appears to be indicating ‘ungrounded’ or possibly ‘reversed polarity’. Both are bad.
What you’re looking at here is not a healthy situation and should be corrected ASAP.
