What is Payment at Settlement?

Payment at Settlement refers to payment for an inspection at settlement versus at or before delivery of service. Payment at Settlement is a short-term financing vehicle for buyers who need/want to defer payment until settlement.


What are the benefits of paying at settlement?

Convenience! Collecting payment at settlement reducing the amount of time and hassle associated with the payment process and frees up your money for immediate use.

Is there a charge for deferring payment until settlement?

Nope! There is no charge for deferring payment to settlement. 


Why do I need to give my credit card if I’m not paying until settlement?

In case your home does not go to closing or the inspection invoice does not get added to the settlement paperwork.


Can I still pay for my inspection before settlement?

Of course. You are welcome to pay for your inspection beforehand via money order, check or credit card.


How does the inspection get added to the settlement paperwork?

Your agent is responsible for sending the inspection invoice to the Title/Abstract company, so deferred payment can be included in the settlement paperwork.


What if my agent forgets to give the invoice to the Title Company?

If US Inspect has not received payment within 90 days from the date of the inspection, your credit card will be charged and a receipt will be e-mailed to you.
