Online Radon Courses
We have 5 radon courses in FAStrack that are approved by the national radon certification organizations and many regulated states also accept NRPP continuing education units for their certification programs. Complete the course and take the exam. Passing grade is 70%. Course completion certificate can be printed upon successfully passing.
| RNCE01 - Radon Physics-The Basics - Cost: $39 |
This course covers the basic physics of radon. It covers radiation, a brief history on the various pioneers who contributed to our early understanding of radiation, basic atomic structure, radioactivity, the radioactive decay chain and decay process, the properties of three radioactive decay particles, measurement units for radiation, measurement units for radon gas and radon decay products, and the meaning of equilibrium ratio and sample calculations.

This course covers a brief history on radon in mines, discusses our current understanding of the health risks including the latest findings by the National Academy of Sciences. It also covers animal studies, residential studies, the cancer causing mechanism, and also includes two review sections for radon physics and testing protocols.

This course covers the radon measurement protocols for the home owner and the home buyer. We will review the various measurement options, placement of devices, test site conditions, weather considerations, and quality assurance.

This course discusses the theory of operation for most of the commonly used radon measurement devices in use today. We cover the various methods used by each type of device and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.

Radiation safety training refresher course for all radon professionals. This is a mandatory annual requirement for all radon measurement and mitigation professionals in NJ, per NJ DEP regulations.
