All About AFCI Outlets

While GFCIs (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters) protect us from shocks, AFCIs (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters) protect our house from catching fire from 'arc faults' at an electrical wire. Sounds pretty important to me!

These relatively new style breakers are identified by their yellow/orange color and are typically found in all new construction.

These breakers should be tested monthly and any malfunction or lack of response will require a licensed electrician to be notified.
