Efficient Use of Ceiling Fans

Did you know you can actually decrease your energy consumption in the summer by using a ceiling fan? 

The correct ceiling fan, operating in conjunction with your air conditioning system, and following a few simple to remember tips, will result in lower energy use overall.

For example, many air conditioning systems run roughly at 3500 watts. A typical ceiling fan runs at 60 watts.  By adjusting your thermostat and operating your ceiling fan blades in the appropriate direction, you’ll keep air moving, feel cooler, and the air conditioning will run less often.
