Do you know the location of your forced air furnace filter?  Is it located at the air handler of the furnace or at the return grill on a different level of the house?

Do you know how to remove, inspect, and replace the filter?  Most air filters will have arrows indicating the desired direction unprocessed air should travel enroute to the heat exchanger.  It's important filters are replaced properly and frequently for maximum benefit and efficiency.  Also, inspecting for gaps in the furnace system ductwork is necessary to prevent unfiltered air from penetrating the system.  Once identified, gaps can be sealed with metal foil tape.

This brief video will teach you important cues to ensure that your filter is replaced properly. Also, be sure to check out our video on how filters work.
