Tales from the Road: Can I See Your Inspector's License?

Advisory Report - December 2003

Tales from the Road:  Can I See Your Inspector's License?

Tales From the Road is a forum to share amusing or enlightening stories collected over the years from our inspectors.  The names have been changed and some of the details have been altered, but these are based on true events.

While traveling on the interstate, on the way home from a home inspection, I noticed a police car in my rear view mirror coming up on me rather fast. He got about two car lengths from me and turned on his emergency lights.

pulled over to the side of the road and was rather confused, because there were several cars that actually passed me while I was getting pulled over. I got out my wallet and rolled down my window as the officer approached. The officer leaned down, put both his hands on my door and said, " I need a home inspection."

I inspected his new home 2 weeks later.
