Born and raised in Matoaca, Virginia, Jim completed his education at the Chesterfield Technical Center. After school, Jim went to work and quickly became a valuable asset as a Sales Coordinator and later an Outside Salesman for two large lumber contractors in the Tri-Cities area.
Working in the lumber industry was a natural fit for Jim, who is the son of a carpenter and has worked for the family carpentry business since he was old enough for his Dad to put a hammer in his hand. Working as a carpenter is where Jim inherited his uncanny eye for detail.
When Jim has time off, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, and a blended family of 4 children and 8 grandchildren. He also enjoys attending church regularly as faith is a family priority.
